Buko ni Juan

Naturally Refreshing
February 17, 2013

After some hours of walking around at the Seri Fantasy World at the second level of Manila Ocean Park, we're glad to get some refreshments from Buko Juan. We've heard that they make the best buko shakes in town, so we didn't hesitate to get a sip of their concoction.

Their products are fairly priced and we can attest that indeed, their buko shake is the best one around! It's a perfect mixture of sweetness, freshness, and authentic buko bits.

Shiro Shiro Japanese Restaurant

Early Lunch
February 17, 2013

After attending the Sunday Mass at Ermita Church, we decided to go for a walk at Roxas Boulevard and to also have our brunch. Actually, we already had a food place in mind but then we were enticed by this restaurant.

Judging from its door entrance, we were surprised to see that it's actually spacious inside.

On the left side are the typical table settings.

There are also these Japanese settings for that authentic Asian vibe.

Depictions of railway stations line the restaurant floor.

Brunch is served! :)

On Learning Archery
February 16, 2013

We are always into trying something new. This time, we headed to Pasig for an ala Hunger Games experience.

Archery is something that I didn't even imagine that I'll be able to try. But here it is!
The basics were taught to us -- the stance, how to look at the target, and how to prepare yourself to shoot (hand under chin).

We availed their Valentine promo so we had this extra activity after the basic training. We were tasked to pop 3 balloons out of 9, with only 6 arrows at hand. We were able to burst the bubbles after 3 consecutive aims and we just used our remaining arrows to play around.

Still included in the promo are some good food to share. It has been a wise decision for us to make a reservation since the Valentine promo and the walk-in rate were just the same, but availing the promo made a big difference!

One of the balloons left unpopped.

Look at how tofu can be this enticing! It's equally good as how you see it.

Our prize, along with keychains at the next photo, from the Valentine promo activity.

We were the only customers at the restaurant at that time so we had this spacious spot.

Desserts! Red Velvet Cupcakes and Hot Chocolate placed on cute cups.

My Mother's Garden

Valentines Escape
February 14, 2013

Pick your own spot in the house, either in the garden or in one of its spacious rooms.

Each table is laden with flowers including a candle for a truly romantic dinner experience.

The buffet table boasts itself with a mighty chandelier to lighten up the mood.
Filled with antique furniture, rooms give couples a slow and lasting evening feel.

Garden salad goes well with three choices of dressings, mango, pineapple, or coriander.

Create your own combination of pasta and sauce of freshly crushed tomatoes, basil pesto, olives, or chorizo.
The main entree, house's specialty Mustard Chicken, is served with either white or brown rice. Also available is the Sauteed Shrimps with tomatoes (not in the photo).
Time for sweets after meal as the dessert sampler plate was served. Try out the carrot cake, so moist and yummy!
Another simpler buffet table is found in the living room.

My Mother's Garden is located at 2650 Zamora St., Pasay City.
