Raintea Confectionery

French Macarons Galore
January 19, 2013

After having lunch at Pan de Amerikana, we walked towards here. C has often passed by this place and got curious with what they offer. We've tasted French Macarons from different shops all over the metro and so far, theirs are the cheapest that we've found but the price doesn't compromise the quality. Theirs are crisp on the outside and the filling isn't dry.

Apart from these box sets, they also accept made to orders for special occasions. You can even have requests like the outer part are of the same color but have different flavors.

Wooden Spoon

Her Birthday Celebration
January 12, 2013

Birthday lunch at Katipunan before TEDxADMU. When we arrived, the house was full and we were third on the waiting list. It took around 30 minutes before we got seated. It didn't take long for the food to arrive since we've placed our orders while waiting for our spot.

Tortang Talong. Lemon Grass Chicken. Shrimp Pampango.
With us eagerly taking a lot of photos, the owner may have recognized that we are first timers in his place. He gave us more sauce choices for our food.

For those of you who are hesitant to eat shrimp because it does take time to remove its covering, Shrimp Pampango would be perfect for you! Everything in this dish is intended to be gobbled up! :)

Reyna Blanca

Sago Cake. This one's sweeter than the former. The syrup tastes like latik

La Piadina

Pre-Birthday Dinner
January 10, 2013

There are just some good things that don't last, such is La Piadina. We ate here just before C's birthday and I tell you, the food is relatively cheaply-priced but the taste was amazing. Truly, value for money. But, this restaurant closed for a reason we do not know. Originally, La Piadina was located at the 2/F of Robinsons Manila.

The counter boasting its tiled elegance.

The menu (look through it, the food is inexpensive).

I was able to pick this cutlery set up and apply to formal gatherings.

 Cheese and salad dressing.

This soup that goes with the meal is amazing!

Roasted chicken served with rice and side dish.

Pasta, pizza and salad, all in one plate.

C asked me to buy her an iPad in the Apple Store in our school because I can avail of the student discount there, and so I gave her the purchase and had dinner. I truly miss this place and would want to visit other branches of La Piadina. If there's a place where posh meats value for money, this may just be the place.
